From the snow-capped North to the sub-tropical South, India displays a tantalising diversity in its cuisine, languages, religions, cultures and traditions. The cuisine as seen today has evolved over the centuries and has its roots in humble households in the different parts of India. The various regions in the vast country have influenced the style of food. The taste, colour and appearance of a certain delicacy changed from one state to another. Like any other cuisine, many factors including climate, availability of ingredients, natural resources and religion have had their influences on the regional styles of food. In general, the Northern States have richer sauces and more aromatic spices and wheat as the main diet, whereas in the Southern States, the sauces are lighter and more pungent and rice is main diet.
Indian curries
very famous for their hot taste and plenty of condiments which make them exceptionally tasteful.
Kadahi
Plenty of variety foods and recipes are available in India which are cooked in this type of frying pan ... more
common myth that has prevailed over the years that, all
Indian food is 'Chilli Hot' or pungent, is untrue. A sizeable portion of
the cuisine is spicy, aromatic and flavourful without being overly
pungent. Everything on the menu starts out mild. You have to ask
specifically if you want the dish to have extra chilli so nothing will
be served "hot" unless you ask for it. We are happy to help you decide
what will suit you.
Most curries can be made according to your taste. Anything can be made
as hot as you like. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies
please let us know. Gluten free meals also available. Vegan meals a
speciality. Our Lamb and Beef are both halal, often we have Halal
chicken, please ask when ordering. We use ghee and vegetable oils , not
animal fats.
